Fund Overview

HGI Multifamily Credit Fund II is a multifamily debt fund managed by Harbor Group International. The group has been active in the acquisition, improvement, and management of multifamily assets since 1985, and in providing debt financing secured by multifamily assets since 2007.

As of the end of 2025, HGI has more than 1,600 employees, manages approximately 65,000 directly owned residential units, more than one million residential units under direct and indirect ownership, including debt exposure, and has assets under management, AUM, of over USD 21 billion.

Strategy

The fund invests in debt backed by multifamily assets in the U.S. through several credit strategies, including direct lending, securitization and sale of loans to the capital markets, acquisition of structured bonds issued by government agencies, acquisition of bonds and loans in the secondary market, and bridge financing, including mezzanine debt and preferred equity.

The fund’s objective is to create a risk-balanced investment portfolio based on asset-level underwriting. The fund relies on HGI’s expertise and experience as an owner and operator of multifamily assets to conduct rigorous debt underwriting, supported by HGI’s and its management team’s deep familiarity with the multifamily market.
