New Mountain Partners VII is a Delaware limited partnership formed by New Mountain Capital Group. The NMC Group was established in 1999 and specializes in Private Equity investments in the field of buyout in North America, in mid-market companies. The total assets managed under the group (AUM) are about 45 billion, the fundraising target of the fund is 12 billion dollars and so far about 10.5 billion dollars have been raised.
The new fund continues to operate in the strategy used by the previous funds from NMC and is aimed at investing in companies operating in defensive industries. It focuses on making investments with down-side protections in industries with low sensitivity to economic cycles. The purpose of the fund is to increase value through growth (mainly in income) and/or efficiency, while relying on the experience of the fund managers.
